Case of retained fetal femur acting as inert intrauterine device

Introduction: Retention of fetal bones is a rare but documented complication after dilation and curettage (D C). Previous case reports have described instances retention multiple or bony fragments. Case Report: We are presenting female with 1.5 years secondary infertility due to single, intact, femur bone following therapeutic abortion 13 prior. The was incidentally identified on follicle check ultrasound removed via hysteroscopy. patient conceived one year later, which progressed full-term pregnancy. Conclusion: Retained fragments intact should be considered as possible cause abortions, emphasizing the importance imaging in preliminary workup.
